Amber Alert For Marion County Teen

Kansas authorities have deactivated the Amber Alert issued for 17 year-old Tara Simhiser. Simhiser disappeared sometime Tuesday morning and was reported missing Tuesday afternoon. She remains missing and feared to be in danger.

Marion County Sheriff Robert Craft says Simhiser’s family befriended 21 year-old Rojelio Hernandez a couple weeks ago. Hernandez is the same man believed to have entered several Kansas schools recently asking very suspicious questions.

Authorities put out his name and description in hopes of finding him, but never did.

Craft says deputies received word of some violence that occurred Monday night between Hernandez and Simhiser, so an Amber Alert was issued Wednesday evening.

Hernandez is from Odessa, TX, and could be headed there, but they say they have information that his car was possibly seen in Wichita as late as 8 p.m. Wednesday. That car is described as a 90’s model Honda Accord with a possible KS license tag of 050-BDD.

If you have any information as to the whereabouts of Tara Simhiser or Rojelio Hernandez, call the Marion County Sheriff or 1-800-KS-CRIME.
