On a festive night with senior posters dawning the Redskin dugout and parents with their athlete of the field before the game, the mood was upbeat for Redskin baseball.  But when the game started, Hays routed Liberal 20-1 in three innings Thursday night at National Beef Sports Complex.  Hays scored 14 runs in the second inning and six in the third.  Hays out-hit the Redskins 12-3.  Liberal pitching walked eight.  Hays hit two grand slams.

Hays wins the WAC for the fourth straight year and stands 14-8 overall and 11-1 in the WAC.  Liberal is 8-17 overall and 4-8 in the WAC.  Liberal will play at 2pm Thursday in Maize on 1270 and 92.3.
