LHS Falls Shorthanded Without Shamari

Playing most of the game without an injured Shamari Lewis proved to be too much for the Liberal Lady Redskins to overcome.  Lewis collided with a Woodward player after a layup early in the first quarter in an 8-6 game and did not return.  Woodward ran away with a 58-41 win over the visiting Lady Red Tuesday night at Boomer Fieldhouse.  Liberal committed 24 turnovers in the loss.

Woodward took an early 6-2 lead but the Lady Redskins rallied to lead 11-6.  The Boomerettes answered with a 7-0 run to lead 13-11.  It was 15-15 after one.  Woodward led 23-22 at the half.  Woodward led 42-26 after a 19-4 advantage in the third quarter.

Kylie Rhine scored 12 and Maliyah Mullens had eight in the loss.

Woodward is 3-6 and Liberal is 6-2.  Liberal hosts Garden City Tuesday night at 6pm with Redskin Pre-game at 5:45 on 1270 and 92.3.
