The Liberal Redskins won a battle but the back to back defending state champion McPherson Bullpups won the war. Despite out scoring McPherson 42-35 in the second half, Liberal fell 66-47 Saturday afternoon at Salina South.
McPherson jumped out to a 10-2 lead after one. It was 31-5 McPherson at the half as LHS went 0-11 from three. Liberal blistered the Bullpups in the third quarter 29-14 to cut the lead to 45-34 after three. Liberal got the lead to 10 at 44-34.
James Fieser scored 21 and is Epic Touch Player of the Game. Juan Diego scored 15.
The Bullpups are 2-1 and the Redskins are 0-3. Liberal opens WAC play at Hays Tuesday night at about 7:45 on 1270 and 92.3 FM.
