Campus Rallies Past Redskins in Overtime

The Liberal Redskins built a 12 point first half lead and an 11 point second half lead before the Campus Colts rallied to sink the Skins 53-49 in overtime.  Liberal had trouble with the Campus pressure defense committing 24 turnovers.  Liberal faltered at the foul line going 8-23.

The Redskins led 9-7 and led 13-11 after one quarter.  The Redskins took leads of 20-13 and 22-15 in the second quarter.  The Redskins built the lead to 27-15 before a 5-0 run by the Colts made the score 27-20 at the half.  The Redskins led 32-21.  Campus closed the lead to 32-27 before a 4 point play by James Fieser made it 36-27.  But a 6-0 run by the Colts made it 36-33 after three.  Liberal led 39-36 after a three by James Fieser.  But Campus stormed back to lead 42-39.  Campus led 44-41 before Eathan Hernandez sunk a game tying three pointer from the right corner to tie the game at 44-44. The game went to overtime.  The Colts led 49-44 and 52-46 in overtime.

Liberal is 0-2 and plays McPherson Saturday at about 2:45 at Salina South on 1270 and 92.3.
