The Liberal Lady Redskins are 2-0 for a second straight year after a 50-31 win over the Campus Lady Colts Friday afternoon at Salina South.
Liberal jumped out to a lead of 16-2 after one quarter. LHS led 27-10 at the half. Campus used a 6-0 lead to cut the lead to 27-16 at the 6:08 of the third quarter. Madysen Hammond sunk a left corner three at the end of the third quarter to give Liberal a 43-24 lead after three.
Liberal won despite shooting 8-20 from the foul line and committing 20 turnovers. The Lady Red forced 21 Campus turnovers.
Kylie Rhine was Epic Touch Player of the Game with 16 points. Shamari Lewis had 13 points. Maliyah Mullens scored eight.
Liberal plays McPherson Saturday at 1pm at Salina South with Redskin Pre-game at 12:45 on 1270 and 92.3.
