The Hesston Invitational Cross Country Meet moved to Bethel College in Newton Thursday due to flooding rains in Hesston. Liberal brought home 14 medals from the event. The races were divided by a runner’s year in school. Liberal runs Saturday, September 20 at Hugoton.
Leading the way for LHS, Rubi Alvarez was 3rd and Sofia Lucena was 4th in the Senior girls race. Caleb Zamora was 4th in the Junior boys race and Abel Gomez was 15th while Brandon Ailon was 22nd. Tanner Denoyer was 16th in the Senior boys race. Jhovana Cruz was 11th in the Junior girls race. Easton Martinez was 10th in the Sophomore boys race and J’Kobe Contreras was 19th. Alondra Gonzalez was 10th in the Sophomore girls race and Sandra Ventura was 11th. Julieana Hernandez was 13th. Valeria Onteveros was 10th in the freshman girls race and Sophia Mercado was 15th. Elliot Vasquez was 21st in the Freshman boys race.
