The Seward County Commission met on Tuesday evening at 5:30 PM, and after hearing an update from Great Plains Development, the Commissioners approved using Hansen Tree Grinding Service to stay in compliance with KDHE, pending proof of insurance. Currently, the landfill grinder is down for mechanical issues with an unknown time for repair.

County Commissioners accepted the offer from the City of Liberal of $500,000.00 for the buyout of Seward County’s portion of the 15th Street Fire Station with the Right of First Refusal to the County in the event the City decides to sell the facility.

The Commission approved Resolution No. 2025-14 appointing Andrew Barkley as Interim Emergency Management Director.
