ICS Class for Executives and Senior Officials

Just like every emergency service, EMS, Fire, or Law Enforcement, our political leadership also must train for emergencies and disasters. Being familiar with the laws concerning these events as well as the responsibilities of leadership is critical to good outcomes for our citizens.
Seward County is sponsoring a class that is designed specifically for elected officials as well as community leaders. The class will take place on May 20th at 9:00 AM in the Seward County Event Center.

This class is very important for those elected and appointed officials who have statutory or delegated authority to act on behalf of your political subdivision, whether county, city, school district, fire district or other such entity.

Elected officials such as mayors, city commissioners, county commissioners and others, are responsible for ensuring the safety, health and welfare of the people within their communities.

This four-hour class will help you understand your role in supporting your response agencies and the Incident Command System during and after a disaster. The purpose of this course is an overview to familiarize Executives/Senior Officials (elected officials, city/county managers, agency administrators, etc.) with Incident Command System (ICS) principles and their role in supporting incident management.  Designed for executives, administrators and policy makers, ICS for Executives introduces the Incident Command System (ICS) concepts and provides an orientation for executive understanding and participation in ICS.
