USD 480 Meets Approves New Curriculum Items

The USD 480 Board of Education met Monday evening at 6:30 pm at East Campus and after approving the Consent Agenda, approved the English Language Arts professional development for both middle schools in the amount of $15,790.00.

The Board also approved approve the First Makerspace curriculum to be used at Meadowlark Elementary, the HMH curriculum to be used in ELA classrooms at LHS, the purchase of a new social studies curriculum from HMH for LHS, the purchase of CKLA and Caminos curriculum for K-1 at PVE, and the OPEN physical education curriculum.

The Board approved the recommendation of setting non-resident enrollment caps by grade level to the following:

Kindergarten: 5
1st grade: 5
2nd grade: 3
3rd grade: 5
4th grade: 5
5th grade: 5
6th grade:8
7th grade: 8
8th grade: 6
9th grade: 10
10th grade: 10
11th grade: 10
12 grade: 10

12 teachers in total from EMS and SRMS were approved by the Board to attend AVID professional development during the summer.
