Liberal Unified earned third place at the inaugural WAC Championship, posting an 820 series at Walnut Bowl in Great Bend.
Kyle Lambley, Sam King, Gracie Thompson and Brooklyn Quint represented Liberal. Great Bend claimed first place with a 1,014 series, followed by Hays in second with a 945.
After battling nerves through the first two games, Liberal settled in and bowled well over the final four games.
Coach King said the experience was valuable preparation for regionals, which will also be held in Great Bend next week. With a better feel for the lanes and the initial nerves behind them, King hopes the team can enter the tournament with a game plan and momentum.
Regionals is scheduled for Thursday, November 12, at 1:30 p.m. in Great Bend.
