The Liberal baseball team blanked the 1st place Garden City Buffaloes 2-0 Tuesday night at the National Beef Sports Complex. Kye Morris pitched a complete game allowing two hits with six strikeouts and one walk.
The Redskins out-hit Garden City 6-2. GCHS had the game’s one error. Liberal scored in the first when Blayden Betts singled home Ethan Olmstead. The Redskins added a run in the fifth. Blayden Betts ripped an RBI double to left center to score Jonathan Santos. Betts was 2-3 with a double and both RBI’s.
Garden City falls to 8-7 overall and 5-2 in the WAC. Liberal is 6-8 overall and 1-3 in the WAC.
Liberal plays at Cimarron Friday at 4pm.
