The #20 Hutchinson Blue Dragons beat the Seward County Saints 10-4 and 19-2 Saturday afternoon at Hobart-Detter Field in Hutchinson. The Dragons win the series 3-1. Hutch hit 15 home runs in the series and Seward hit four.
Hutchinson won the first game 10-4. Seward out-hit Hutch 8-6. HCC had four errors and Seward had one. Hutch scored two in the first and three in the second. Blaine Chancy found the evergreens in right field for his 12th home run of the season in the second to make it 5-1 in the second. The Blue Dragons scored five in the fourth. Jacob Urias ripped a double to left center in the fifth and would score on an error. Seward scored two in the seventh. Both runs were unearned. Juan Alvarez tripled home a run. Cross Durham was Black Hills Energy Player of the Game going 2 and 2/and 2/3 retiring every batter he faced. Juan Alvarez was 3-4.
In game two, the Blue Dragons scored five in the first and six in the second. Isai Santaella lifted a two run home run to right in the third to make it 11-2. The Dragons added four in the fourth and four in the sixth.Hutch out-hit Seward 16-3.
Hutchinson is 37-11 overall and 19-5 in the Jayhawk West. Seward falls to 22-28 overall and 14-10 in the Jayhawk West. Seward plays at Butler Thursday at 1pm with Saints Dugout Show at 12:45 on 1270 and 92.3 FM.
