The Liberal softball team hosted the Hays Indians Thursday evening for the WAC opener at the National Beef Sports Complex.  Hays won 9-1.  Liberal had just three hits and committed seven errors in the loss.  Hays scored four in the second.  Liberal scored in the bottom of the third when Brooklyn Short singled home Melaina Puitt.  The Indians plated three in the fourth and two in the sixth.  Hays out-hit LHS 8-3.  HHS did not commit an error.  Hays is 3-2 and 1-0 in the WAC.  Liberal is 2-3 and 0-1 in the WAC.  Liberal plays at Great Bend Tuesday night at 6pm.
