The Liberal Redskins were competitive in the first half leading after the first quarter. But the Great Bend Panthers used a 21-6 run to begin the half and a 26-12 third quarter to put the game away. Great Bend trounced Liberal 83-61 Monday night at the Great Bend Fieldhouse.
The Redskins jumped out leads of 15-11 and 17-12. It was 17-15 Redskins after one quarter. The Panthers took a 28-22 lead before an Eathan Hernandez three pointer cut the lead to 30-29. GBHS led 38-31 at the half. The Panthers jumped all over the Redskins to begin the second half taking a 52-37 lead with 3:56 to play in the third. Great Bend out scored LHS 26-12 in the third quarter to lead 64-43 after three. The Panthers roared ahead to a 72-45 lead.
The Black Hills Energy Player of the Game is James Fieser who scored 20 points. Eathan Hernandez scored 17. Prince Collins scored nine.
Great Bend is 13-8 overall and 6-1 in the WAC. Liberal falls to 2-18 overall and 0-6 in the WAC.
