#4 Butler Sweeps Seward Softball

The Seward softball team traveled to El Dorado Saturday for a double header with #4 Butler.  Butler won both games 10-5 and 11-2.

In game one, the Grizzlies had a 2-0 lead until the Saints scored four in the fourth for the 4-2 lead.  Butler answered with four in the bottom of the fourth for a 6-4 lead.  Seward scored one in the fifth to make it 6-5.  Butler scored four in the bottom of the sixth for the 10-5 lead.  Butler out hit Seward 10-6.  Ashley Low, Ayanna Clemons, and Alyssah Pontoja hit home runs.

Butler jumped on Seward early in game two with four in the first and two in the second.  Seward scored in the third.  Butler scored one in the fourth and fifth innings and three in the sixth for the run rule.  Butler out hit SCCC 11-4 and Seward had four errors.

Seward falls to 10-12 overall and 9-7 in the Jayhawk West.  Butler is 16-0 in the Jayhawk East and 29-2 overall.  Seward plays at Hutchinson Thursday.
