The Seward County Commission met on Monday evening and heard updates on the Tax Sale, from Kirkham Michael, and on Work Comp. Mary Rose, the Seward County Treasurer announced the implementation of the new online payment portal, as they prepare for the new property tax year beginning November 1, 2026. It will go live October 30, 2026.
The Commission approved the bid from Hansen Tree Service out of St. Louis, MO for tree-grinding services to stay in compliance with KDHE.
The Board approved the purchase of a Vaccine Freezer for the Health Department, and approved the purchase of software licenses using the 911 fund for the Communications Department.
Commissioners approved the 2026 Seward County Disaster Recovery Plan, and approved the Beehive Software Agreement & Costs for Emergency Management.
Jackie H. Cooley appointed to fill the unexpired term serving until 12/31/2027, on the Seward County Council on Aging Board.
Discussion was held by Commissioners on the Wind Farm Advisory Vote.
