The tradition rich Meade Buffaloes have dropped a class to 8 man division 2. However, they also have 10 more players out for football than they did last year. Buoyed by a big freshman class, MHS had 26 out for football. They have a junior class laden with skill and size. Fifth year head coach Clint Kuhns says this team looks the part of a team that can make a run. But he also says a lot of team dynamics have to play out properly for that to become a reality.
Meade improved to 7-3 last year after returning 10 starters. Meade won the 2021 state championship going 13-0. They went 9-2 in 2022 and 8-2 in 2023 before 3-6 in 2024. So things are back to normal in Meade. Even the field has green grass on it. Last year, Meade only played one home game and had to go on the road for the rest of the season due to field maintenance issues. This year, the field is adorned with green grass despite the unseasonably hot late summer in the area.
Some of the key Buffaloes are Sr. RB/LB Tyson Knott, Sr. C/NG Trey Crecelious, Sr. WR/LB Keagan Mein, Sr. OT/DE Colt Dizmang, Jr. WR/DB Jeremaine Conley, Jr. TE/DE Titus Ritter, Jr. QB/DB Tate Jones, and Jr. lineman Logan Bird.
Meade was featured during Sportsguys Tuesday morning. The schedule remains challenging despite dropping a classification with the opening game at the defending state champ South Central. The Buffs play five of the same opponents as last year.
