The Turpin Cardinals have been to the playoffs in 10 of the past 12 seasons. Unfortunately, one of the seasons they missed the postseason was last year when the Cardinals slumped to a 2-7 record. There is optimism in Turpin with return skill position players looking to turn things around under 14th year head coach Justin Hannah.
Turpin has 18 out for football as Thursday was the first day of school. They have four starters back on both sides of the ball.
Some of the key Turpin players are Sr. RB/S Saul Alvarado, Sr. OL/DL Alex Alvarado, Sr. OL/DL Daniel Ponce, Sr. WR/DE Max Garza, Jr. QB Cesar Quintana, and Jr. WR/DB Aaron Gandarilla.
The Turpin Cardinals will be featured during Sportsguys Friday morning. Turpin plays their first three on the road and doesn’t play at home until September 25.
