2019 Baby Cakes Award

International Pancake Day is proud to announce the “Baby Cakes” award to the first baby born at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal on Shrove Tuesday, March 05, 2019. Alex Llama was born Tuesday at 8:19 a.m. to parents Jessica Nallely Uribeesquivel and Franciso Llama. He weighed 7 lbs 14 oz. and was 20 inches long. Alex joins a long list of babies born on Pancake Day during the 70 year tradition. The recipient of the award receives a plaque commemorating the event, along with a gift basket of baby necessities provided by the International Pancake Day Board and Russell Child Development Center, a non-profit program which provides early intervention, Healthy Steps and Triple P Parenting services in Southwest Kansas.
