Without Top Two Keepers LHS Falls at Hays

KSCB News - April 22, 2016 6:32 am

Liberal’s top goal keeper Reyna Gonzalez was unable to play due to injury. The backup goalie quit. That’s when all WAC player Carolina Limon stepped in to the goalie position after two days of practice. Despite a one on one situation in which Liberal had a great chance to score, the game was scoreless at the half. Hays scored on a set play with 18 minutes to go. At that time Limon was pulled out of goal to try to bring more offense to the game and Ali Lucero came in at goalie. Limon was double teamed for the final 15 minutes. The Indians added two more goals and beat the Redskins 3-0. Hays out shot LHS 8-4. Limon had six saves. The JV tied 1-1.

Liberal is 4-6 and 1-5 in the WAC. LHS plays at Guymon Tuesday.
