Turpin Takes Fight Song Contest

KSCB News - November 2, 2010 12:00 am

Turpin fans, residents, and students showed their Cardinal pride Tuesday morning. Turpin won this year’s fight song contest by making 186 votes during the Sportsguys Tuesday morning on Talkradio 1270. They earn 150 dollars from Seward County Broadcasting to their booster club and Billy’s will cater a meal for them Thursday night. Our final On the Sidelines show of the year will air Thursday night at 6 p.m. on 102.7 FM and kscbnews.net with the Turpin football team and cheerleaders.

Tyrone received 149 votes for second and Seward County Broadcasting will send a 100 dollar check to the Tyrone Booster Club.

Southwestern Heights places third with seven votes for 50 dollars to their booster club. Sublette had five votes, Beaver garnered four while Hooker and Hugoton got a vote a piece. Moscow and Satanta didn’t receive votes.

The On the Sidelines show is a fun loving high school football preview show with hosts Jack Jacob and Brock Kappelmann. Most coaches bring senior football players in for the Thursday night show and Billy’s provides the team with a meal. The show began in 2003. The nine teams involved in the show are the original members of the show from 2003.
