The Heat Hand the Bee Jays First NBC Loss

The Wellington Heat doubled up the Liberal Bee Jays 10-5 Tuesday night at Lawrence Dumont Stadium. The Bee Jays now have to win three games to make it to the NBC’s Championship Week.

Liberal scored first when Gaviin Wehby scored on Nick Brooks single to left in the bottom of the first. The Heat greeted starter Matt Michalski with a five run fourth. Four runs came with two outs. Liberal rallied in the third when Brady Cox lifted his sixth home run of the year over the left field wall to make it 5-4 Heat. But Wellington answered with a three run seventh to lead 8-4. The Heat added runs in the eighth and ninth. Cale O’Donnell singled home a run in the eighth.

The loss snaps Liberal’s eight game winning streak. The BJ’s play San Diego Force Wednesday at 1. If they win they play the 10 pm game. The action airs on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
