SWMC Board Names Interim CEO

At the reconvened Southwest Medical Center Board of Trustee meeting which took place Wednesday evening, Vice President of Finance Bill Ermann was announced as the Interim CEO/President for the local healthcare facility.

“The board has not yet formalized plans regarding recruitment of a permanent CEO/President,” said SWMC Board of Trustee Chairman Joe Sealey. “However, we will be looking at that in the near future.”

Bill Ermann, Vice President of Finance/Chief Financial Officer, returned to Southwest Medical Center in June of 2009. In addition to Southwest Medical Center , he has worked as a Controller at two (2) not-for-profit 300+ bed community hospitals in Mississippi and West Virginia . He has over 13 years of health care experience in auditing, finance, and accounting of not-for-profit and for-profit hospitals. He received his Bachelors of Science in Public Accounting from Mesa State College in Colorado . He is a non-practicing CPA, a member of HFMA, and active in the local community.

He and his wife Dayna have three daughters and a son from their 20-year marriage. Ermann has served as CFO for the hospital since 2010 when former CFO DeLany Fawkes retired. Prior to becoming CFO, he served as controller for the hospital.

“I am honored to have been named as the Interim CEO/President for Southwest Medical Center ,” Ermann said. “We have a lot of exciting things happening at SWMC and I look forward to helping lead our staff into 2012. The greatest thing to look forward to is the great people at SWMC- 400 dedicated and caring people who work so hard every day to ensure that our patients and neighbors are given great health care. They are the real success stories for SWMC. It is truly my pleasure to be associated with these people and Southwest Medical Center .”

Ermann was named as Interim CEO/President in light of the recent resignation of former CEO/President Norm Lambert.
