Stand-Off In Lakin Ends Peacefully

KSCB News - July 28, 2015 3:24 pm

On Monday Joseph Dewayne Barrera was released from the Kearny County Jail after a court appearance for a Deomestic Abuse allegation.

A no contact order was issued by the judge to protect Barrera’s wife.

It was discovered that after his release Barrera went to his residence and kicked in the front door and entered the house.

Kearny County Sheriff personnel arrived on scene and the wife and two children exited the home; however, Barrera refused to exit creating a stand-off situation.

A search warrant was obtained and Finney County SRT arrived on scene at which point Barrera surrendered and was arrested.
