Rural Fire Town Hall Meetings In Seward County

Joe Denoyer - August 15, 2016 11:10 am

Seward County Fire Department serves all residents and businesses outside the City of Liberal. They cover 462 square miles and protect over 2,000 residents including the City of Kismet. They are a volunteer fire department and have critically low volunteer firefighters availability during daytime hours.

SCFD will be hosting two town hall meetings to discuss several different options for the fire department to provide better services to Seward County residents. They will be discussing the rural fire tax, and what kind of adjustment there could be to hire fulltime personnel. There will be a lot of information about the Seward County Fire Department.

SCFD is requesting feedback from  citizens at these town hall meetings that will help decide how to operate as a fire department for Seward County residents in the future.

Town hall meeting dates and times:

Tuesday August 16, 2016 at 6:30pm – Seward County Ag Building – for residents outside City of Liberal,

Wednesday August 17, 2016 at 6:30pm – Kismet Fire Station – For residents in the City of Kismet and Kismet area.
