Ron Hall named KDOT Southwest District Engineer

Joe Denoyer - August 9, 2016 8:19 am

Ron Hall has been named the District Engineer for the Kansas Department of Transportation’s Southwest District, headquartered in Garden City. Hall replaces Larry Thompson, who served as the District Engineer for more than 20 years before accepting a positon as KDOT’s Director of Operations, overseeing all six districts across the state.

Hall, who has a Civil Engineering degree from the University of Colorado, began his KDOT career in 1980 in the Dodge City Construction Office. He spent several years as the Equipment Engineer in the Bureau of Construction and Maintenance in Topeka, before returning to southwest Kansas as the Assistant District Engineer for Maintenance, a position he has held since 1988.

KDOT’s Southwest District office maintains more than 1,500 miles of roadway across the 19 counties of southwest Kansas.
