Redskins Sweep Colby on the Road

KSCB News - April 23, 2016 7:40 am

The Redskins took two at Colby Friday, but at what cost? Cole Evans was injured in game one and did not play in game two. The Skins have now won six straight after taking game one 17-2 in four innings and winning game two 6-0.

In game one, Tucker Deaton went four innings for the win. LHS scored three in the first, 10 in the third, and four in the fourth. Evans was 3-3 with four RBI’s and a triple. Angel Archuleta was 2-3 with two RBI’s. Tim Fitzgerald and Sylman Pando drove home three runs a piece. Jared Hasik scored three runs.

In game two without Evans, Alex Yanez shut out the Eagles in six innings and Hasik closed it out. The Redskins won despite only four hits. The Skins scored two in the fifth and four in the seventh. Jacob Mettlen was 1-3 with two RBI’s. Alex Carrillo drove home two and Stevie Lira scored two runs. One of the key differences, LHS did not walk anyone and had one error while Colby issued four walks and had two errors.

Liberal is 10-4 and plays at home against Dodge City Tuesday at 6 for one game with Redskin Pre-game at 5:45 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
