Liberal and Olney Celebrate 60 Years of Pancake Day in Two Weeks

RESULTS OF SATURDAY Feb. 21, 2009 COMPETITIONS

PANCAKE FLIPPING CONTEST

Division I Flipping (ages 7 & under)

Winner is the contestant with most flips in 3 minutes

1.Brody Sumner age 7 203 flips

2. Spencer Linder age 6 144 flips

3. William Limon age 7 79 flips

Division II Flipping (ages 8-13)

Winner is the contestant with most flips in 3 minutes

1.Victoria Rios age 10 270 flips

2.Brendon McCurry age 10 258 flips (also placed 2nd last year)

3.Andrew Babb age 10 207 flips

Division III Flipping (ages 14 and up)

Winner is the contestant with most flips in 3 minutes

1.Beau Fick age 14 342 flips

2.Eydie Petty adult 325 flips

3.Derek Fuller adult 304 flips (placed 1st last year)

PANCAKE EATING CONTEST

Division I Eating (ages 7 & under)

(Winner is the contestant who completely consumes one 5-inch pancake in the shortest amount of time)

1.Spencer Linder age 6

2.Nicholas Babb age 7 (also placed 2nd last year)

3.Brody Sumner age 7

Division II Eating (ages 8-13)

(Winner is the contestant who completely consumes three 5-inch pancakes in the shortest amount of time)

1. Brandon Kisner age 12

2. Dustin Friederich age 13 (placed 1st last year)

3. Tristan Martinez age 12 (placed 2nd last year)

Division III Eating (ages 14 and up)

(Winner is the contestant who completely consumes five 5-inch pancakes in the shortest amount of time)

1.Michael Maxwell adult

2.Andy Lovato adult \

3.Jesus Cordova age 16

PANCAKE COOKING/RECIPE CONTEST

(one age division, open to 12 and older)

1. Stan Seibel Fried Pancake Sandwich

2. Andrew Babb Sugar Chip Cookie Wedges

3. Suzanne Powell Cream Puff Bites

Other entrants in the cooking/recipe contest were Janie Kitch, Dorothy Coleman, Donna Walker, Eydie Petty, Nancy and Gary Scott, Sherry Fick, Peter Babb, Emile Darga, and Heather Watt.
