Liberal City Commission Meets, Approves Street Lighting Purchase

The Liberal City Commission met Tuesday evening at 5:30pm with a light agenda.

The Commission approved an Amendment to the National Beef Packing Development agreement which are to include reimbursements and credits to National Beef from the City for the Cell Cleaning Project.

Also on the agenda the commission approved the Interlocal Agreement with the Southwest Kansas Coalition, and Pinegar and Smith. Cost to the Coalition is $41,200.00 to be split between Liberal, Garden City, and Dodge City.

Additional Street Light was approved by the Commission at the meeting. Areas to be receive the lights are McCray and Linn Blvd, Linn and Harold Blvd, Forest and Harold, Forest and South Street, and Mission and South Street. Total cost of the project would be $11,109.48.

In a added item, Commissioners approved the purchase of a Hydromulch Seeder to help prevent erosion on the drainage ponds. Cost of the seeder is $12,665.00
