Liberal City Commission Meets, Approves Oktoberfest

The Liberal City Commission met Tuesday evening and heard from Dustin Ormiston regarding the 2018 Hay, Rice, and Associates Audit of the City of Liberal. Commissioners then approved the Contract with Hay, Rice for the 2019 Audit not to exceed the amount of $48,250.00

After hearing from the City Attorney, the Commission approved Ordinance 4531 which amends City Codes Sections 3-105 and 3-602. Also approved was a cereal malt beverage license of Oktoberfest. The event will take place on 4th Street at the Masonic Lodge area.

The City Commission approved the rezoning of property of the National Carriers addition from Agriculture to Heavy Industrial to allow for National Carriers to build new offices and a shop. Also corrected was an early Ordinance, 4528, which dealt with the vacation of a 20ft Alley.

The final plat for the East Industrial Park was approved per a recommendation from the Planning and Zoning Board, and MT2 was the lone bidder for the lead reclamation at the shooting range at a cost of $40,785 with the City receiving 50% of the resale of the lead. The estimate of monies coming back to the City range from $6000-$12,800.

City Commissioners approved the Digiticket E-Citation System for the Police Department at a cost of $110,951.68 to come out of the Diversion Fund with an annual maintenance fee of $11,015.30 to be split between the Police Department and Municipal Court.

A Sprinkler System for South Middle School was also approved during the meeting as the School will soon be used as a Recreation Center. Cost of the Sprinkler System with cost of $198,200. from Pryor Automatic Fire Sprinkler Inc. Commissioners also approved an amount not to exceed $10,000 for new carpet in the office area of the building.
