“Flock Of Flamingos” To Help Kiwanis Projects

KSCB News - April 15, 2015 11:39 am

The Kiwanis Club of Liberal has begun to “pink” unsuspecting residences and businesses in Liberal once again. It’s first victim was Steve Chaloupek of Poor Boys Instruments. The flock was seen Tuesday on East Pancake Boulevard across from the famous Pancake House. They have since flown somewhere else in the community

The cost is $20, a mere $1 per bird. All the funds raised for the flocking will be used to finance the projects that the Kiwanis does throughout the year for the children of the community.

The Kiwanis will be happy to take your flocking order. The flocks are 20 birds in size, and they can be ordered by calling Scantlin’s at 624-3859 and asking for Matt Graham.

Liberal has two Kiwanis Clubs that meet on Thursdays. The Early Risers meet at 6:30 a.m. at the Pancake House, and the Noon Kiwanis Club of Liberal meets at noon at the college.

Kiwanis Clubs, located in 80 nations, help their communities in countless ways. Each community’s needs are different – so each Kiwanis club is different. By working together, members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone.

When you give a child the chance to learn, experience, dream, grow, succeed and thrive, great things happen.
