CityBus Hits Milestone

KSCB News - October 4, 2012 12:42 pm

The City of Liberal has recently implemented a public transit program for its residents, consisting of two wheelchair accessible buses running fixed routes and one van utilized for door-to-door on-demand paratransit service. Services began Monday, September 17th, just 12 working days before the 1000th passenger was transported.
??We are so happy and excited to bring this service to Liberal? said Jeff Young, Transit Supervisor.
The service is the first of its kind for a city exceeding 20,000 residents located in Southwest Kansas.
??City Bus has been well-received by the riders and much appreciated,??Young added. ??We have increased ridership from a total of 30 passengers the first day of operations to an average of 83 daily after a small period of time.?
