KSCB News - July 10, 2015 7:16 am

These are two teams going in opposite directions. The El Dorado Broncos have won nine of their last 10 after a 10-2 win over the Liberal Bee Jays Thursday at Brent Gould Field. Liberal has lost six of the past seven. The Broncos have outscored the BJ’s 19-3 the past two nights.

El Dorado scored one in the first against starter Matt Michalski. El Doraodo shortstop Grant Ware lofted a three run homer to left in the second to make it 4-0 Broncos. Liberal cut that lead in half in the third when Luke Sherley doubled and Gavin Wehby sliced a double to left to drive him home. Liberal scored another run on an error to trail 4-2. El Dorado scroed one in the fourth, one in the sixth, and four in the ninth.

Liberal is 21-14 overall and 17-12 in the Jayhawk League. El Dorado leads Liberal by 2.5 games and is 22-9 and 19-9 in the Jayhawk. The Bee Jays are now as close to third place as they are to first.
