LHS Debate Competes in Andover, Qualifies Individuals for State

LHS Debate traveled to Andover High School for their invitational tournament on Saturday. 106 students competed, and our novice teams pushed themselves to compete in the Open category. After four rounds of intense competition, both of our teams, represented by Myvette Garcia Garcia/Dahlia Hueso and Jonathan Barragan/Dominic McCord respectively, came away with winning 3-1 records. More importantly, Myvette & Dahlia received their second bid to the State Championships with an 11th place finish, and Jonathan & Dominic officially qualified for States, taking 7th overall. We are unbelievably proud of everything both teams have accomplished in such a short period of time! LHS Debate travels to Newton next weekend with the hopes of advancing more teams to the State Championships in January.
