Two Vehicle Accident in Texas County

A two vehicle accident occurred Friday afternoon at approximately 3:58pm 2 miles east of Guymon on Highway 54.
A 2004 Peterbuilt pulling a double decker cattle trailer driven by Cameron Costilla, 29 of Guymon, OK was pulled off on the east bound shoulder of US Highway54. The driver was out of the vehicle checking on the load in the trailer. A 2000 Ford F-150 driven by Mauricio Gonzales, 54 of Dalhart, TX. was traveling eastbound also on US Highway 54, when he took his eyes off the road to reach for his cell phone. Gonzales was transported by Guymon EMS to Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, KS; where he was admitted in stable condition for arm and trunk internal injuries.
Costilla was not injured.
