County Commission Appoint Chair and as Vice-Chair

The Seward County Commission held their meeting on Tuesday evening at 5:30 pm Read a Proclamation declaring February as Black History Month in Seward County. The Rodeo Committee discussed their plans for their 10th-year celebration of the PRCA Rodeo and got a definitive plan for the relocation of the Rodeo Arena.
Appointed to the Planning and Zoning Board was Steve Merz, Devin Walker, and Jairo Vazquez.
The County sent out invitations to bid for a 2024 motor grader on December 20, 2023 and at the meeting opened the Bids but delayed their decision until the first meeting in February. Bobby Wright gave a report to the Commission on road conditions in the County, and the Commissioners approved the annual contract with Hay, Rice & Associates for the 2023 audit of Seward County, Kansas.
The Commission reviewed portfolio reports and made updates and changes. The Commission then reappointed Scott Carr as Chairman and Tammy Sutherland Abbott as Vice-Chairman for 2024.
