Ryan Matthew Davis, 30, died May 15, 2014 in Wichita , KS . He was born on August 9, 1983 in Garden City, KS. to Mark and Doris (Behm) Davis. A graduate of Fellowship Baptist School and Seward County Community College School , both in Liberal, he was currently working on finishing his Criminal Justice degree at Wichita State University . He also was working as a teacher and counselor at Riverside Academy in Wichita and as an Inspector for the Kansas Boxing Commission. Ryan also worked as a volunteer firefighter for the Seward County Fire Department, until a medical condition forced him to give it up.
Ryan’s passion was his motorcycle. The only thing that he might have loved more than his motorcycle was kids. From an early age, Ryan could “charm the pants off” any kid around. Ryan was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church of Liberal, KS and was a vested member of the Wichita chapter of the Ruff Ryders, where he was affectionately known as “Lepricon.” He also had a close affiliation with the Wichita chapter of the Underground Kings and Queens .
Ryan is survived by his parents, Mark and Doris Davis of Garden City, a brother Christopher Davis and wife Stephanie of Henderson, TX, his grandmother Gertrude Davis of Garden City, a special friend Sandra Aves and her daughter Cassandra of Wichita, an aunt, Donna Owens of Holcomb and 1 niece Madisun Boese Davis and 2 nephews Cyle and Travin Davis and a host of Ruff Ryder “brothers and sisters” nation wide. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Ernest and Evelyn Behm and paternal grandfather Arthur Davis.
Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Liberal, KS with Pastor Bill Prater presiding.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday at the Richfield Cemetery in Richfield , KS with Pastor David Jones presiding.
Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Brenneman Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends from 6-8 p.m.
