The Lady Saints found themselves in too big of a hole Saturday afternoon at the Dome in Dodge City. The #4 Lady Conqs led 43-19 at the half. Seward rallied in the third quarter cutting the lead to 10. But DC3 had too much defeating SCCC 76-61.
Dodge City connected on three 3 pointers early to lead 13-4 before the media timeout. DC3 led 20-8 after one. The lead ballooned to 20 at 35-15. DC3 took a 41-17 lead. Dodge City led 43-19 at the half. DC3 out rebounded SCCC 30-14 in the first half. The Lady Saints dominated the third quarter 32-21 and trailed 64-51 after three. SCCC actually got to within 10 at 61-51. DCCC controlled the fourth quarter.
Seward shot 33 percent from the field going 7-16 from three but 14-25 from the foul line. Dodge City shot 45 percent while going 8-26 from three and 14-19 from the free throw line. DCCC out rebounded SCCC 44-31. Seward forced 15 DC3 turnovers.
Destiny Alexander was Black Hills Energy Player of the Game with 12 points and seven rebounds. Kimora Fagan and A’Neya Chambers scored 12 piece.
Dodge City is 16-1 overall and 11-1 in the Jayhawk. Seward loses for a fourth straight year at Dodge City and falls to 13-5 overall and 8-4 in the KJCCC.
