Liberal’s wrestling boys and girls began the WAC dual season at Hays Tuesday. Here are the results and comments from the LHS coaches.

The Boys Wrestling Team took on Hays for the WAC Opener this evening and ended up falling short. With the final score being 44-30. The boys kept it close till a key injury and tough loss came at the end. “The boys battled all night and were up for the challenge. We were missing a few guys and had to plug JV guys in last minute, but they battled hard and did what was asked”
Liberal Boys will be back in action Saturday 01/17 in Scott City.

Girls wrestling faced a tough challenge on Tuesday falling to Hays by a score of 10–70. Girls will get back in the wrestling room to strengthen technique, make adjustments, and continue building on their skills.
They will be back in action this Friday and Saturday as they travel to Wichita to compete. The upcoming tournament will provide additional opportunities for growth and redemption as the team looks to bounce back with strong performances on the mat.
