An injury accident occurred Thursday morning at approximately 8:19 am on US Highway 54 westbound at milepost 108. A 2025 Hyundai Tucson being driven by Stephen O’Neill, 44,  of Lawrence KS was westbound on US-54 while a 2007 GMC Yukon being driven by Dario Flores, 57, of Ulysses eastbound on US-54. O’Neill was turning south onto Cottonwood Street in front of Flores causing the two vehicles to collide.

A passenger in the Flores vehicle, Silvestre M. Flores, 85, of Ulysses was taken to the Kiowa County Memorial Hospital with suspected serious injuries. Dario Flores was taken to the  Kiowa County Memorial Hospital with suspected minor injuries. O’Neill was not injured.
