For the 11th straight year, the Liberal Lady Redskins win their opener. LHS held down Salina South 52-44 Thursday night at Salina South High School.
LHS led 10-5 after one quarter. Liberal built a 15-9 lead in the second quarter and led 17-12 at the half. Liberal took their biggest lead of 24-17. Liberal took their biggest lead of 33-24 and led 33-27 after three.
Kylie Rhine was Epic Touch Player of the Game with 18 points. Shamari Lewis scored 16. Maliyah Mullens added 10.
Liberal made 4-9 from three point range and 12-21 from the foul line. South was 3-17 from three and 11-22 from the free throw line.
Liberal plays Campus Friday at 3pm with Redskin Pre-game at 2:45 on 1270 and 92.3.
