Seward out rebounded Pratt by 18 and put up 21 more shots in a 71-62 over Pratt at the Beaver Dome in Pratt Wednesday night.
Seward led 8-7 at the first media timeout. Pratt roared back to lead 17-12, 19-14, and 21-16 after one. The Lady Saints used a 12-2 run to lead 28-23 at the 6:34 mark of the second quarter. Seward expanded that lead to 41-27 before a 5-0 run by the Lady Beavers made it 41-32 at halftime. Seward out-scored Pratt 25-11 in the second quarter. Pratt used a 12-2 run to make it 43-39. Seward led 54-48 after three. A Kimora Fagan three pointer from the top of the key gave SCCC a 63-53 lead with 5:40 to play. Seward led 65-53 after a steal and Avery Marchino lay up. Pratt cut the lead to 67-62 with 41 seconds remaining.
Seward shot 37 percent from the filed making 6-24 from three and 11-14 form the free throw line. Pratt shot 45 percent from the field making 5-15 from three and 9-12 from the foul line. Seward put up 21 more shots than Pratt. SCCC out rebounded Pratt 43-25. Pratt had 22 turnovers and SCCC had 15.
Avery Marchino had 19 points and 15 rebounds. A’Neya Chamber had 17 points and was Epic Touch Player of the Game. Destiny Alexander had 12 points and seven rebounds. Kimora Fagan had nine points with eight rebounds and six assists.
Pratt falls to 6-4 overall and 2-3 in the KJCCC. Seward is 8-3 overall and 3-2 in the Jayhawk. Seward had won 13 in a row and 66 of the last 67 vs Pratt.
