The Great Bend Panthers jumped to a 42-6 lead at halftime and coasted to a 55-6 over the visiting Liberal Redskins Friday night at Great Bend Memorial Stadium.
Great Bend bolted to a 42-6 lead in the first half. Connor Holiday’s 18 yard run at the 9:16 mark. A Dax Minton 64 yard run mad it 14-0 after the PAT at the 4:36 mark. Liberal scored on a Xavier Tafoya 5 yard TD run. The point after was blocked so it was 14-6 at the 11:51 mark of the second quarter. Dax Minton hooked up with Ian Premer for a 62 yard touchdown at the 10:22 mark. Minton found Premer for a 26 yard score at the 4:48 mark to make it 28-6. Ian Premer’s interception and 50 yard run for a score made it 35-6 after the PAT at the 4:00 mark. Premer intercepted another LHS pass. Minton’s 21 yard TD pass to Premer with 4 seconds left in the half made it 42-6 after the PAT. The Panthers continued to pour it on in the second half. Connor Holliday’ four yard touchdown in the opening drive made it 48-6 with 8:40 to play in the third. Dax Minton hooked up with Cooper Ohnmacht for a 27 yard score. There was a running clock in the fourth quarter.
Great Bend is 6-0. Liberal is 5-1 and hosts Ulysses for homecoming Friday night with pre-game at 6pm on 1270 and 92.3.
