Seward County will receive an upgrade starting this week with an overlay project as part of the County’s ongoing road maintenance efforts.
Work will begin June 4, 2025 and expected to be completed July 31, 2025, weather permitting.
J&R Constructors Group will perform the work.
The project includes five different locations and will be performed in this order:
Road J: On Road J, a 1” mill and 2” HMA overlay, starting at the intersection with Road I, then proceeding north 7.5 miles to K-190.
Larabee Road: On Larabee Road., a 1” mill and 2” HMA overlay on, starting at the OK state line to Liberal City limits.
Road R: On Road R, a 1” mill and 2” HMA overlay, starting at the intersection with US-54, then proceeding west and north 8.9 miles to US-160.
Road V & Road 16: On Road V, a 1” mill and 2” HMA overlay, starting at the intersection with Meade Lake Road, then proceeding north 2.5 miles to US-54, and on Road 16, starting at the intersection with T Road, then proceeding east 1.5 miles to the south end on the Kismet Main St. curve.
Meade Lake Road: On Meade Lake Road, a 1.5” mill and 3” HMA overlay, starting at the intersection with US-54, then proceeding east 5.5 miles to the Meade County Line.
This project is a mill and overlay. Flaggers and a pilot car will be used during daylight hours. Delays of 15 minutes can be expected. A width restriction of 12 feet is also in place.
Drivers are asked to follow all posted signage, traffic control and to use caution.
