Liberal City Commission Approves Insurance Review

The Liberal City Commission met on Tuesday evening and after a presentation from Al Shank of Al Shank Insurance, approved the Review of the City’s Insurance and stayed with Employers Mutual through Al Shank Insurance. Commissioners approved the lease of a Turf Tank machine for the Recreation Department to assist in the marking of the fields for games. This machine should significantly speed up the process of getting the fields ready for games.

Commissioners approved a Deed of Release to sell airport property to tenant John Smith. The Deed of Release will be sent back to the FAA. The Commission approved the relocation of a sewer line in the Holly Ridge Addition to the City of Liberal in an amount not to exceed $200,000.00 and approved moving forward with the building of Randall Detention Pond near Fellowship Baptist Church.

Approved was the purchase of 2 new HVAC units for City Hall and appointed Edgar Ortuno to the Liberal Metropolitan Area Board of Zoning Appeals and Planning Commission. Nick Schwindt was re-appointed to the Planning and Zoning Commission for a 3 year term.
