The Graduation Class of the First Community Police Academy.

Joe Denoyer - May 20, 2022 4:29 pm

During the 14-week Community Academy students received training in numerous subjects. Some of these classes included criminal investigations, accident scene investigation, community policing and other other detailed information.

“We have received a lot of great feedback from students,” said Chief Cutshall. “Now I want to further  reach out even further and sponsor a Spanish speaking only Community Academy. The goal is for everyone to have this knowledge and for our officers to be known in the city they serve,” Cutshall added.

The academy has been intertwined with numerous on-going community policing projects over the past two years. These projects have included; monthly neighborhood walks, Liberal Night Out, civic group meetings, daily business contacts and the most recent “Walk the Beat with the Chief” Facebook posts.

Please watch for upcoming updates on the next Community Academy.
