Asphalt overlay work to begin March 18 on K-25

Traffic changes are scheduled to start along K-25 near Ulysses March 18, according to the Kansas Department of Transportation.

K-25 traffic will be reduced to one lane between U.S. 160 and U.S. 50, 10 miles north of Ulysses. Motorists should be aware of delays as traffic will be carried through the work zones with the use of flaggers and a pilot car. When construction is not taking place, K-25 will be open to normal traffic.

This project consists of milling one inch of the existing roadway and placing a two-inch hot mix asphalt overlay. A rock edge will be placed along the roadway, and permanent pavement markings will be installed on the new surface.

Venture Corporation of Great Bend is the contractor on this $1.5 million project, which is expected to be completed by the end of April, weather permitting.

For more information on this project, contact Larry Meyer, Area Construction Manager, at (620) 384-7821, or Yazmin Moreno, KDOT District 6 Public Affairs Manager, at (620) 260-6397.
