Liberal Police Seek to Reduce Accidents in the City

The City of Liberal has experienced a high rate of traffic accidents this year,
specifically on Kansas Avenue between 2nd and 15th. In March, in order
to reduce these crashes the Liberal Police Department initiated a plan that included high city police and state patrol visibility, a radar trailer being deployed and
other driver awareness such as  Public Service Announcements. The accidents were literally cut in half during that month. While any amount of traffic accidents are unfortunate the LPD considers half as a good start.

Once again after the month of March, traffic accidents again rose back
to the unfortunate norm. On July 1st, Chief Cutshall reactivated the March plan to once again reduce these accidents.  The Police Department  is currently working on the reduction of traffic accidents between 2nd and 15th on Kansas Avenue and are requesting drivers to please use caution.
