Seward County Commission Assess Damage to Rodeo Arena

Joe Denoyer - June 30, 2021 3:34 pm

In a Special Meeting Tuesday evening, the Seward County Commission heard reports on the damage at the Rodeo Grounds at the Fairgrounds due to Friday evening’s storms. The Commission moved to demolish and remove the storm damaged bleaches in the Rodeo grounds and waived the purchasing policy due to the emergency nature.  Commissioners also approved using Earles Engineering to test the structural integrity of the remaining bleachers and waived the purchasing policy again due the emergency of the situation. County Administrator, April Warden was given the go ahead and gather information of the panels which are in cement, in front of the bleachers, to see if they can be repaired or need to be replaced.

The County Commission also approved for Warden to proceed with the possibility of purchasing replacement bleachers from Hanson Sports.
